Michael LeBlanc

Michael is the Director of Marketing for The Shopping Channel, a division of Rogers Broadcasting Limited. He is responsible for customer acquisition, retention and brand development for all channels including television, digital and print. The Shopping Channel, Canada's only nationally televised shopping service and its leading eCommerce player, is one of Canada’s most innovative and diversified retailers. Since the launch of The Shopping Channel’s initial television shopping channel in 1987, The Shopping Channel has become a true multi-channel retailer and distributor through its leading online presence at TheShoppingChannel.com.

Armed with a B.A. from Carleton University and a M.B.A. from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto, Michael established his expertise in product and marketing management at Black & Decker, made his move into the virtual world when he joined Levi Strauss & Co. Canada, and worked at Hudson's Bay Company as a Director in their CRM practice as well as orchestrating Hbc's online strategy. Most recently, Michael was General Manager/Director of Shopping for CanWest Interactive, a division of CanWest Mediaworks Publications Inc.

In addition to his responsibilities at The Shopping Channel, Michael is a committee member of The Sick Kids Foundation Digital Advisory Council in Toronto, and an active member of the Canadian Marketing Association, including co-chairing the 2005/2006 Digital Marketing Conference. Michael is a frequent speaker and panelist at a host of conferences and industry events in and outside of Canada. Additionally, he judged the 2001 Canadian Media Innovation Awards and co-chaired the 2001 Canadian Digital Marketing Awards, as well as judging the 2000/2002 awards.

Michael has appeared as a guest lecturer at the Rotman School of Management (University of Toronto), the Schulich School of Business (York University), the Ryerson School of Retail Management and most recently at the John Molson School of Business (Concordia University).
