C.C. Chapman – Podcasting Is Apple Pie for Whales - Day 2 Session 1

Podcasting legend C.C. Chapman gave the crowd the 411 on podcasting as he kicked off DMC day two on Friday. He spoke about what podcasting is and what it is not.

So what is podcasting? It is like apple pie for whales, just go Ask a Ninja for more details.

It is not low quality, just for geeks, a fad that will go away, just about audio, only streaming multimedia, and NOT owned by Apple. It is about content, content and content. It is owning your space, increasing your personal brand, becoming an expert and having a plan so you don’t become a “pod-fader”. It is a viable part of a business communication strategy if done right and he gave some examples of good and bad ones.

I wonder what CC thinks about my teams effort at Scotiabank with The Money Clip series? Joseph Jaffe is sitting beside me blogging about CC's presentation , maybe I'll just ask him.

I thought an interesting statistic was something like 63% of people listen to podcasts on their computers - he's right - wait until it works on a Blackberry and it will open podcasting up to a whole new device driven audience!
