Google takes over the world

Interested in taking a look into the future...check out this flash animation. Watch the "Epic 2015" version and you need the sound turned on.

The animation was created for the Museum of Media History and takes a look at the media landscape in the year 2015. Things are moving so fast and in so many directions, I really wonder how it will all turn out.

I wonder if major print publications will die out as suggested or if the strongest, most flexible & most forward thinking will be merged with "new media" companies enabling them to keep up with the ever-evolving way the public consumes (and creates) news & information? Do you really think Google (or Googlezon) can "rule them all" and will even exist in 2015? More than that, and what's likely of interest to marketing folk in the Canadian Marekting association, is what will marketing (especially Internet marketing) jobs look like in 2015 when the media landscape has totally changed?

This video is too cool. I watched both the old and the new - save time and just watch the new - it includes all of the old video's content but incorporates newer media technologies like iPod, Podcasting etc.

The one thing that strikes me as accurate about this "predictive" history piece is the SPEED with which media and marketing channels are changing and evolving... It is hard to keep up and even stay current, let alone get ahead of the curve...
